Joye's Update 4/16/08

All was pretty quiet today; Andrew basically just rested up for his surgery tomorrow. We're still, of course, praying he will be able to breath on his on before the surgery to avoid going in again . . . so please continue to pray and maybe he won't have to go through that. The surgery is scheduled for 11:30am. Either way, he will be so happy to be able to speak again soon. I was informed today that once he's recovered from this surgery he will be able to be transferred to a rehabilitation hospital to begin rehab to get completely off the ventilator. Once that's accomplished, then he will go to yet another rehabilitation hospital that specializes in spinal cord injuries. It's going to be a long road to recovery, but he's committed (and so am I) 100% to getting him healthy again. Andrew's resting quite comfortably tonight, and is enjoying the Suns game. He's still keeping his humor about him and he's not wavered in his faith that he'll pull through this. As always, I'm so very proud. Anything is possible though God. Good night and God bless. Joye

Joye, tonight at bible study we all hold hands and lifted Langley in prayer and we'll be lifting him in prayer tomorrow morning as he goes into surgery, that God will work through the hands of the doctor and be healed in the name of Jesus. We love you guys and here for you. Nick & Marie

Andrew and Joye,
Anthony and I will pray for you tonight, and if in fact you do have the operation, we will pray during that time. Joye, stay strong. Andrew, even stronger. Joye, check out the Kennedy Krieger Institute web site. They are in the DC area, but they work with spinal cord injuries and they are the best. At least it can give you information.
Lots of Love to you both,
Dawn

Hi Joye and Langley,
All you need now are those slim leg jeans with the HUGGS(lol) and you are good to go! I will be praying with lSears every night at 8 for you so we can get some synergy going and speed the healing process up! It is sooo great that you two can keep your sense of humor going through this whole ordeal. I admire you both for it and know that few people can do what you have done together... Joye & Drew,

Just wanted to give you some Bible verses to lean upon during this time I hope it helps and lifts your spirits. Keep your eyes upon the Lord and he will see you and your family through this.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever."
Psalm 28:7-9

"It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great. You broaden the path beneath me, so that my ankles do not turn." (this is where the ugs come in =})
Psalm 18:32-36

I hope and pray that your surgery went well. Your are both deeply in my thoughts and prayers. Drew, Millan was asking about you as well just thought you would like to know that little shit hasn't changed any youd think being a BP agent and all would have helped him to grow up but NOPE sure didn't I guess thats cuz he worked with you for so long.. HEE HEE. just kidding You better get well soon I need to hear some gossip and if anyone knows whats going on you will.. And by the way we seriously need to talk about the ugs issue HMMM who knew. next thing you know youll be carrying a man purse or do you already.... HMMM

Lots of luv sent to you and your family. Joye if you need anything please don't hesitate to ask.

Always,
Robbin
