Joye's Update 5/4/08

Another pretty quiet day. Andrew is still pretty wiped out from fevers yesterday and last night. He did not sleep well last night either. I think he just got over tired yesterday and it really set him back a lot, just as the doctors said it would. I kept things quiet for him today and he did a lot of resting. . . we definitely want him strong enough for his journey Tuesday. His mother will be leaving tomorrow . . . he'll miss her praying with him and reading to him. After a while she will be able to visit him in Colorado . . . we just aren't sure how close the hospital is to lodging, etc. and I will not have a vehicle for a while; so I will check things out once I get there. I know it will be hard for her to be away from him in the mean time. If he's up to it, my sister is going to shave his head and trim his beard down as far as she can for him tomorrow so he'll be spiffy for his trip; besides the hair is itchy for him. I am trying to get packed for colder weather and don't worry . . . I've packed Andrew's tennis shoes for him to walk out of there in. Our faith is in God and His promise to us. We know that God has a purpose for this and we are seeing daily how many people are turning to the Lord . . . prayer is an amazing gift from God and it can bring much comfort and tremendous results. Keep praying and worship the Lord, I believe it's what He wants most from us. Good night and God bless. Joye

Drew & Joye,
As each day passes numerous prayers are being said for Drew's recovery. Tomorrow is a BIG day ... you must be very excited. A new adventure to learn so much. Be sure to eat your Wheaties the Breakfast of Champions
we were told. And you are a champion looking fwd to a olympic gold metal.
This next segment will be a strenuous journey @ Craig - I know that your have the strength & drive to make significant progress daily. Remember we are all praying for you & God is there with you at all times.

Divine Order

I trust in divine order, knowing all is coming together for greater
good.

A quilter cuts and sorts dozens, or even hundreds, of shapes of fabric
before creating a quilt. If I were to look at all the loose pieces,
they might not seem to have a pattern or purpose. But after they have
been sewn together, I can see a colorful design appear as a beautiful,
durable quilt.

I may not always see the coming-together of the pieces of my life at a
time when much is happening. Yet I trust that divine order is always
present. Spirit is at work in the details of life.

As independent as activities and surroundings may seem to be of one
another, they blend together in an intricate pattern. And even when I
do not see evidence of good taking shape and emerging, I trust that it
is there. Divine order is present in my circumstances, and all is
coming together for good.

"Trust in him at all times, O people." -- Psalm 62:8

So you are flying off to the Rocky Mtn's mile high city of Denver with your tennis shoes. Enjoy the great weatheras its a beautiful time of the year for Denver
May you have a a safe & enjoyable trip .. we will all look forward to all your progress on the blog.

In Christ's Light & Love
Sandi

Joye and Drew~ It is such great news that you will be going to Colorado. Just knowing that they specialize in the treatment he needs. I too am confident that he will walk out of that facility, it's just a matter of time. In the meantime, maintain your strength and faith and know that there are tons of people here that will not only be patiently awaiting your return, but also keeping you in thoughts and prayers daily, until you DO return. Have a safe trip and continue to take such good care of each other.

Langley, It was sooo great to see you on Saturday, I just knew that I needed to see you and let you know how much you mean to so many people here at work, I am truly sorry if my visit set you back as Joye was trying to avoid this. I did my very best to not say to much to you as I didn't want to do any harm to your recovery. Please except my apology on my selfishness on wanting to see you. Good luck on your new adventure, this one will be the one to heal you completely. Stay strong and focused, and we will see you walk out of there. Miss & Love ya lots. Carrie

Well Langley your big day is just around the corner now. Remember where your strength comes from and rely on HIM for added comfort. As it has been said from the beginning, "there is no doubts".

Joye I can imagine how exhausted you are but knowing you theres no slowing you down, just remember you too need to rest and eat well so that you will have the strength to handle the things before you. Please, if you need anything I am just a phone call away.

Wishing you both the best of luck tomorrow! Take care and we'll be anxiously waiting to hear from you.

Much Love,
Michele

Joye, I just found out about Drew today. I am so sorry about what you both are going through as well as your families. Please know that from this point forward you will all be in my prayers.

From the catching up I have been doing from your blog, I see that you have been through so much and you keep impressing everyone as you are getting better. This is in fact the Lord's work at his best. As I read the blogs, I can definately see that you have such a strong faith in the Lord.

Psalm 48:1 "Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise"

May He continue to bless you, from your trip to Colorado to your full recovery.

You are in our prayers, stay strong.
