Joye's Update 6/1/08

Another quiet day, but my wonderful husband made today a very special day. Not that I want to advertise getting another year older, but today was my birthday and when I walked into Andrew's hospital room, I was greeted with a dozen roses and a chocolate truffle cheesecake that Andrew asked one of the nurses to get for me. He's so sweet. Other than that, I was successful at getting Andrew to stay awake during the day and when I left tonight he was out like a light. I was also told today that he is charted to get up in the chair sometime this week as the blood thinners should be working on the clots; so hopefully that will be the case . . . and then he should be able to start eating real food again. Thank you again for all your prayers and thoughtful words of encouragement. Good Night and God Bless. Joye

Hi Joye and Langley,
I know it’s been a while since I have posted but believe me it’s not because I haven’t thought about the two of you. Contrary, you both continuously cross my thoughts and prayers and if it’s true about ones’ ears burning when someone is speaking about you, I’d suppose then the both of you are soon to be hard of earring J/K. I still read your blogs every night before I go to bed and then some nights it takes me quite a while to fall sleep; as I lay there trying to imagine all that your having to endure and it all becomes so overwhelming. That’s when I say “thank goodness” for the comfort we have in being able to rely upon the LORD, as HE is well aware of our limitations and frailties; I must say it definitely helps to lighten our load, as I am well aware that the both of you are now experiencing this first hand.

Langley it was a tear jerker hearing about you surprising Joye with the Roses and Cheesecake, you so think you have us fooled but we ALL know about that soft side, you big ol’ Teddy Bear! It’s amazing to read the blogs and feel the love between the two of you, it is awe inspiring!!

Each new day ahead of you may not be the same, as some days will be good and others not so good but remember when there is one step backwards there comes to follow two steps forward. Stay focused on the things at hand, keep your determination and faith, and without a doubt you will beat this. One day at time.

Joye, I hope you realize how much I miss you, it’s truly not the same without you. Even though I didn’t see you everyday, I still knew you were only a few miles away. You’re truly an amazing person and friend and for that I forever thankful! Thank you!

May tomorrow be a grand day with many blessings coming your way!

With Much Love,

Happy Birthday, Joye.

When I was in the hospital God gave me a verse to hold on to.

So, I asked God to give me a verse for you, Andrew..

John 5:8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

Here are some others I used..

Luk 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Luk 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Isa 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

I don't know how much space I have so.. Psalms 91 and Psalms 33:18-34:17. I read other Psalm a lot. There are many that helped in my time of trouble.

My your recovery and your lives be for HIS glory!

In loving service
Deann
