Joye's Update 6/19/08
Andrew was a little better today. He weaned for 4 hours this morning, got up for 2.5 hours, and then he was going to try a wean later tonight; I won't know until morning if he did or not. He tried to eat real food today too, but it's hard for him as he still has the jaw pain. Andrew is still feeling down, but he's really trying hard to do well. Please continue to lift Andrew in prayer. We are so thankful for your prayers and words of encouragement. Good Night and God Bless. Joye

Joye and Langley,
Please know that you are an inspiration to us all!! It is easy for us to quaterback but you yourself know where your determination and faith lies, so what ever you do, do NOT give up!
Everyday is a new day with new challenges but on a so called off day, REST, rest your mind and soul, continue to pray in the manner you have been and your Creator will give you the endurance and strength you need to overcome any obstacle that comes before you.
Remember? No pain No gain.
By multitudes, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers everyday. Press onward my dear friends...good things are destined to come your way.
Much Love,
Michele and Family
Langley, I am glad to hear your day was better than the days before. Continue to stay strong and determined. You truly have so much to gain by this. No matter how it may seem from day to day, you truly need to take it just as that. When set backs come there is reasoning for this that we don't totally understand, but our bodies tell us a lot by the symptoms we are experiencing. When those days occur it is just telling you to take it easy. This will pass in time and you will go all the way without such barriers. Please for the sake of yourself and all those that love you "Don't get discouraged". Much love to you.
And Joye, thank you for your continued updates. I know it must feel like your not able to say much on somedays. But it truly brings a sense of peace to us just to know how our guy is doing.
thanks again
Carrie
Goodmorning Joye~ It is such good news to read todays blog and see that he did another 4hrs of weaning.
Drew~ I was talking with a friend yesterday, and telling her about when I was moving and how several friends had offered to help, promising to be there 'first thing' on the day of the move. Remembering how you were the first one.....er....the ONLY one to even show up! LOL! I remember how you pushed us all day to keep working, despite our desperate pleas for a break. Even when I had pizza delivered and attempted to sit down to eat, you said, "Nope, keep working.....you can eat while you work!" We spent the entire day moving boxes, furniture, and oh yeah...the dreaded piano! LOL! If it hadnt been for you pushing us to keep working, it would have taken a week to move, instead of the day it took with your help. So while I could say for you to remember how you motivated us, and for you to now do the same for yourself.....uh....I guess I really just need you to get better in the event that I ever have to move again.....seeing how you are the only one I could count on to show up! LOL!
Good job with the weaning and keep up the hard work. You are thought of always~

Langley:
Glad to hear you had a better day yesterday. Each day will get better and better. Some days will be better then others but you can GET THROUGH ALL OF THIS!! Just keep your focus on one day at a time. Small baby steps will take you to your BIG RECOVERY. God bless you both and keep you strong!!
Love,
Cherry Derrick
Joye & Drew,
We pray for the spirit of discouragement to be bound from both of you and all those working with you. May you each find joy today in something small as you continue to persevere.
