Joye's Update 7/2/08

Another successful day! Andrew weaned for 16 hours, was up for 6 hours, and also had class and therapies. They will keep him at 16 hours for a while longer until they feel he can move on from there. His CO2 numbers are looking good, so I'm sure he will be able to proceed. We have met a lot of other patients and their families here at Craig. Believe it or not, there are many who are in worse condition than Andrew . . . I feel so bad for them and their loved ones. I pray for all of them. There are also a lot of people who are here and have literally lost everything (house, cars, jobs, etc.) due to their injury. We also see many people who are trying to make it through this journey without the Lord. I really pray for them . . . I could not imagine going through a tragedy like this without God. We feel so blessed to have so many of you praying for Andrew and sending your encouragement and love to us each day. We thank God for you. Good Night and God Bless. Joye

We will all be glad to see you both come home soon, although not the homecoming that we have been praying for. But, I agree that God will heal him in His time as you said, and that your belief, strong faith and prayers will make it so. You two have a relationship to be proud of and have shown great strength through all this. I believe that there is a divine purpose for this experience and that you will become models for others, if you are not already. Your book will be awesome! Drew, your strong will to breathe without the machine has taken you farther than your doctor's could imagine, I'm sure that you will continue to prove that no one can truly say what you can or can't do. Keep the faith and see you soon!
Love Debbie

Hi Joye and Andrew,

Progress. That's what it's all about. I read each day to see how things are going. I pray each night. EVERY night.

Andrew, Anthony asks all the time how you are doing. He told me to tell you again that he is also praying for your recovery.

Two weeks. (July 17) :-)

Until next time.
LOTS OF LOVE,
DAWN
